A summer holiday feeling with the emphasis on freedom. Carefree living, no plans, no commitments.

tends zomer 2005This trend has a strong focus on the outdoor lifestyle, a touch of the campsite even. Enjoying everyday pursuits without being bound by rules. Doing things your own way. Occupying your time with basic activities such as cooking, cleaning and laundry. Just making time for these activities feels like a luxury. The ambience stays relaxed because of the personal and individual way these mundane tasks are carried out.

Nothing is done from necessity, but rather for convenience. Tomorrow everything could be different. Flowers are not necessarily put in a vase they can just as easily go into a jug or bottle that happens to be handy. Even a child’s rubber boot could come in useful here. The use of colour is bright and cheerful, but the trend also incorporates natural colours and materials. The use of many different patterns gives the display an up to date look.

Colour- brights are combined with pastels and neutral shades. The overall colour effect is bright and cheerful, but never hard.

Shape- household shapes such as cleaning fluid bottles, brushes and Tupperware. Clear-cut, functional and basic. Clever, practical solutions.

Patterns- polka dots, cheery Sixties patterns, country style or primitive flower patterns, realistic or abstract insects.

trends zomer 2005Arrangements
Colour- bright and cheerful colour combinations, pastels can be used to take the edge off colour mixes.

Shapes- nonchalant bouquets. Original jokey ideas with shades of the garden, the campsite or holiday travel.

Lots of attention focused on knots. Knots using special twines, string or cord. The arrangements give the impression of being easy to move around and transport. This means they are not arranged loosely in the vase, but in their tied state.

Vases- the vases must look mobile, i.e. collapsible, folding or with handles. All kinds of out of the ordinary products can be used as containers. They could include: jugs, cups, (cleaning fluid) bottles, plastic bags, rubber boots, food tins.

Key words
Flexible, improvisation, optimistic, picnic, fun in the home, free, colourful patterns.
