The volume of information aimed at us every day creates a desire for simplification. By ordering and expressing our thoughts, we can achieve calm and are able to focus on the elements that are of real importance to us. The result is a personal collection of memories that looks like a three-dimensional diary. In it each product has its own symbolic value. Everyday things are unknowingly experienced, kept and treasured. The use of written word is significant alongside the poetic combination of products. It makes no difference whether it is poetry or a short, everyday message. The unexpected place it is found (wall, furniture, packaging, flower or leaf) gives even the most ordinary word a deeper meaning. Interior design, general.
Interior design, general
Colour- a combination of pastels, neutral shades and darks. Pink is very important and when combined with dark and brown (wrapping paper) neutral shades it ensures that the overall effect is not so sickly sweet.
Materials- rugged weathered (demolition) wood, painted wood, paper, newspaper, romantic textiles, voile, fine ceramics, (old) porcelain, ironwork, shards or several pieces of material combined in a single piece.
Shape- subtle romantic shapes. Products are often suspended. This results in a great deal of attention being paid to all kinds of hooks. Product skeletons, e.g. bare lampshade frames are also used to suspend products.
Patterns- symbols, embroidery, handwriting, photoprint, incidental flower prints, bicolour patterns
Arrangements
Colour- pastels are combined with darks, often red or purple, accents. The brown neutral shades from the colour card are often difficult to incorporate in arrangements, meaning there is a danger of the look being ‘over sweet’. This should be avoided.
Shapes- the arrangement has a poetic aura in which each flower seems to have its own symbolic value. The bouquets have no exact basic shape.
Vases- lots of variety in shapes and materials. Ranging from basic to subtly romantic, sometimes with writing or patterns. Vases can come with symbolic elements, e.g. a chain with a charm on it.

Colour palette
The colours are from this year’s colour card and include pastels, combined with neutral colours plus a dash of darker shades. Despite the use of pastels, the overall look should not be sweet and cloying.
