The Floral Expo 2004 was a trade show organized by the Wholesale Florist and Florist Supplier Association.

This year the show was held from October 28th to the 30th in the Georgia International Convention Center in Atlanta, Georgia.

The show targeted US wholesalers and their potential customers – buyers, managers, salespeople and other important decision makers. Although the number of visitors has not yet been publicized, the official result is expected to be around 400 people.

Together with two exporters, G. van Zuylen Jr. and Holex Flower B.V., the Flower Council of Holland participated in this show. The results were positive. The Flower Council of Holland stand served as a visitor reception area and recreated Dutch flower shop displays to serve as inspiration to American florists. It was also used to reach out to the wholesale trade. For that group, there was an example of a Dutch wholesale presentation.

In addition, extra attention was given to Amaryllis and Freesia, the Dutch specialties from this time of the year. The website  www.flowercouncil.org/us was referred to, where these specialties receive full attention.

We can reflect back on a successful trade show appearance. Most likely we will take part again in the 2006 Floral Expo, which will be held in Orlando, Florida. Additional exhibitor terms and information will be available at a later date.
