Colorful and quixotic European flowers made a big splash at the 2007 BizBash Meeting & Event Style Show held last month in New York City.

Just like in years past, the Flower Council of Holland's booth at this year's BizBash Show ensured that the exhibition hall was literally bursting with all the beautiful colors of European flowers. Our booth's design theme - 'Classic Flowers' in autumnal colors - was inspired by our latest photobook Party Flowers2, which we launched at the BizBash Show and which sold like hotcakes: the 150 copies sold in just one day proving yet again that this book, like its predecessor Party Flowers, is indeed a must-have for event planners and floral designers looking for great new ideas for designing with European flowers and novelties.

Booming
Among the priceless insights gained at this year's BizBash Show was the good news that the special event planning market in the US is booming. With more and more people now hiring event planners and floral designers for their special events, weddings and parties, the Flower Council was on hand to show BizBash's 3,000 visitors how to use fantastic European flower varieties and designs to brighten up every kind of special event in every season.

Demonstration
The highlight of BizBash's afternoon session was a floral demonstration by Dutch top designers Pascal Koeleman and Rudi Tuinman. With an audience of hundred enthusiastic floral and event planning professionals looking on, Pascal and Rudi created two stunning table-settings: one very colorful and modern, with bright red, orange, yellow, pink and blue colored flowers arranged in water tubes and decorated with candy; the other more of a traditional design in the European romantic style, featuring a mix of pinks, whites and black flowers.

Wedding bouquets
This year's European floral presentations included a model show of designer Miranda ter Voorde's delightfully intriguing line of wedding bouquets. Eschewing the more traditional, round shaped bouquets, Miranda's original and inspiring creations included some very eye-catching hanging wedding bouquets, which even prompted one excited audience member to inquire if these "gorgeous designs are really used in Europe?" The answer: Yes they are!

Next year
It was 'mission accomplished' for the Flower Council's team at this year's BizBash Show. Our customers and future customers all went home with a wealth of new ideas for creating colorful bridal bouquets, table settings, decorations and arrangements using spectacular European flower varieties and novelties, like Ammaryllis Loyalty, Nerine Red, Celosia K. Bombay Rose, Delphinium Atlantis, Hyacinthus Fondant, and many more. We look forward to seeing you at next year's BizBash M&C Meeting & Event Style Show!
