The name of this Amaryllis says it all! The upper petals of Hippeastrum 'Mocca' are brown with a green stripe down the center.

The very unusual orange-brown color combined with the pale green undersides make 'Mocca' a flower with exceptional style. 'Mocca' is a FloraHolland Primeur and was selected for the prestigious Grandeur class. Hippeastrum 'Mocca' (vbn code 24529) bears at least four but normally five or even more flowers on each stem. These have a diameter of 4 ½ inches and are more than 3 inches long.

The flower has a vase life of at least 12 days and is supplied in small numbers for a longer period of time. They are available from October through March, which is a major selling point for both wholesalers and retailers. In the 2004/2005 season around 3,000 stems were sold at an average price of $ 2.09 each. In 2005/2006 the number is expected to increase just slightly, so that the flower will continue to retain its exclusivity.

New Arrival:  A recent introduction of a new and unique cut flower.
