With four prominent flowers per stem, Hippeastrum ‘Magic Green’ (20618) is quite a sight. Both the color and shape are unique in the Hippeastrum assortment. Even when the trumpets have not yet opened the shape is still particularly striking.

The flowers are considerably longer – more pointed – than other Hippeastrums. When the flower opens it has a green heart and purple/pink striped petals. The flowers diameter is approximately 6 inches and its length around 5 inches.

Similar products on the market are Lemon Line and Lemon Star but these are both small flowered. Magic Green is large flowered, which together with its color makes it stand out from these other varieties.

Unusual possibilities
Hippeastrum can be used on their own in a vase or in mixed bouquets. Remember to use a weighted vase as Hippeastrum are top heavy. A contemporary use of Hippeastrum is to hang it upside down from a line. The hollow stem is then filled with water to prevent the flower from drying out.
