Although striped Freesias are nothing new their popularity seems to be on the increase with a sudden rise in interest from younger generations.

The most recent addition to the range is called ‘Striped Pearl’ (16662), a single flowered, fragrant Freesia with purple stripes on a white background. Although ‘Striped Pearl’ has been available at the Dutch auctions since 2000, it will only be appearing on the market in large numbers starting this year. Freesia is not a flower that is easy to multiply.

A number of other striped Freesias are currently available on the market. These include ‘Striped Jewel’ (single, purple with white veining), ‘Striped Sun’ (double flowered, yellow with red veining) and ‘Striped Star’ (single flowered yellow with red veining) a novelty, which is expected to become more widely available at auction this year.
