1. Podium demonstration

The podium demonstration is given to a 'seated' audience and generally lasts three to four hours. One advantage of a podium demonstration is that a pre-determined message is presented to a large and attentive audience. The podium demonstration is therefore more effective than the continuous demonstration. Number of participants: from around fifty up to several hundred.

2. Continuous demonstration

The importer invites his customers to - for example - a Holland Day or an open day during which an arranger provides a continuous demonstration. The visitors can make purchases and find out about the (creative) possibilities offered by the Dutch product. With continuous demonstrations, it is best to use time blocks, and you could - for example - give a number of hour-long demonstrations around one or more themes. Times and themes can be listed on the invitation.

3. Workshop

In a workshop, florists (and/or their staff) receive interactive training  from an arranger with the emphasis on technique. The group consists of up to 25 people. A workshop is very effective: a large amount of information about a product or relating to a theme is communicated to a highly motivated and commercially important group, who also get to apply the information. If there is a high level of interest, the group can be split. The arranger will then be available for two days.

Participants and their roles

All parties (exporter, importer, the Flower Council of Holland, arranger) have their own role to play. The exporter provides the products, accessories and shipping and pays 50 percent of the cost of the promotional material. The importer invites his customers and arranges the venue and the organisation and pays the accommodation expenses of the arranger. The Flower Council of Holland books the arranger, pays their fee and travelexpenses and 50 percent of the cost of the promotional material. The arranger liases with the exporter about matters such as products and accessories.
