Euphorbia fulgens is a very special flower in the Dutch assortment. One of the reasons for this is because the flower is available in a limited volume. Euphorbia fulgens blooms naturally during the winter months. Due to special cultivation techniques, such as the use of black cloth to control day length period in the greenhouses, the supply volume has been slightly expanded. Supply is generally available in the months of November and December. Growers are now offering florists an opportunity to distinguish their assortments with this unique flower.

Euphorbia is sold by cultivar name as well as color. The best-selling cultivar is ‘Orange’. Other major varieties are ‘Quicksilver’, ‘Yellow River’, ‘Cream Yellow River’ and ‘Red Surprise’. Along with the color of the flower, the color of the leaf also plays a significant role. Some varieties have dark-green leaves. In this case, the flowers are even more pronounced. The most popular color is orange, followed by cream, red, pink, white and salmon.
