The Flower Council of Holland has capitalized on this trend by developing products that bring color and floriculture closer together. In addition to the RHS Color Chart and the Color Experience tool, a ‘color’ file has now been developed and made available to florists.
Today’s consumer is becoming more and more demanding, has more choices and is increasingly difficult to persuade when it comes to making purchases. In the present ‘experience economy’ the consumer wants to discover and experience things. For these reasons, color is becoming increasingly important in this context. People have a desire to stand out from the crowd and to express their feelings.
The Color Book is the latest in a series of products developed by the Flower Council for the (retail) flower trade. The goal of the book is to inspire florists by showing the impact and power of color from a variety of angles. The book consists of seven separate chapters. Each chapter covers a single aspect of the subject of color, such as color as it has evolved through the times, seasons, special days, theory, presentation and how color is used in different countries.
Last year the Flower Council introduced the mini RHS Color Chart in the form of a color fan, which was developed for the wholesale and retail trades to help them simplify communications involving color. The ColorExperience tool has also been available since last year and is an interactive tool developed to help florists improve their color knowledge.
The Color Book ($31,15) can be ordered via the online shop.
