Making the most of cut hyacinth
As one of the few truly seasonal flowers Hyacinths are a clear sign that spring has sprung!
Hyacinth Pleasure boat, step by step design

And what’s more with their unique, sweet fragrance they are sure to lift the spirits of your customers, even if the temperature outside hasn’t!

Hyacinths come in a wide range of colours from bright red to deep blues and pure whites to egg yolk yellows, so they have something to appeal to everyone.

They also have a much longer availability period than most people reckon, running from November through to April... so what will you do with them?

They are an incredibly versatile flower that last well and need little care - which your customers will love.  They look stunning whether used on their own in a vase or grouped together with other products.

Don’t take the bulb off! A common mistake made by many but not by you, I’m sure!

Leaving the bulb on can increase their vase life by 3 days, so be sure to tell your customers not to remove it, just rinse it under water.

With every flower on the stem opening it’s an ideal flower for a winter wedding, Mother's Day or Easter, in fact there isn’t an occasion that Hyacinths won’t fit!

To get the best out of them, use cut flower food, keep them cool and out of direct sunlight (as this will prevent the buds from opening in your shop) and make sure they are away from any source of ethylene gas.  Draughts will shorten the vase life of the flowers and naturally they should only be kept in very clean vases.
