Timing plan

There are 4 areas of assessment and no detailed questions for you to answer – just one question per round.  The emphasis is on showing us how you are both planning and taking action in a number of areas essential to developing your business.

The website features a section entitled ‘What will we be looking for in the 2007 awards?’.  This will give clear examples of how you can achieve the Silver, Gold and Platinum Awards for Excellence.  This section will not be updated during the year since we want all entries to use as many tips and as much guidance as you want from the day the Awards go live.

Judges will also take into account how you present your assessment information, typed (not handwritten),the quality of any images and the overall submission.  Attention to detail is key too.

So don’t forget to make the most of the ‘What we will be looking for’ section and give yourself time to review your entry and discuss it with your team.

In summary

1. Download the Round One Assessment form and save it to your computer

2. Make sure you have a hard copy in your shop and make it part of your everyday approach to your business and make the most of your team’s ideas and contributions

3. Have a diary action plan for regular discussions with your team between now and mid April. Make this a Shop Diary so all team members are encouraged to refer to it

4. Visit ‘What we will be looking for in the 3 rounds’ regularly

5. When you have compiled all elements of your entry, make sure the whole team believes it is the best possible reflection of the business before sending either by email to g.beeson@flowercouncil.org or post to Gail Beeson, Flower Shop of the Year, Flower Council of Holland, 6 – 8 Catherine Street, Salisbury, SP1 2DA . Please save your entry to computer or keep a hard copy

6. Entries must be received by 30th April at the very latest
