Of course Anthurium andreanum Grp Brown King is no ‘standard’ house plant – far from it. The striking flamed russet bracts give the product truly elegant looks, making it an exclusive gift in itself. Even the spadix is unusually coloured, deep pink at the base, shading to pale pink with a green spot at the tip. The deep green leaves with their red veining are an added attraction. In short, a successful product of the breeder’s art.
One year after its launch at the international trade fairs (including the IPM in Germany) Brown King has also proved to be a commercial success. Supplies are growing steadily, while the average price continues to stay some 20% higher than the norm for the same pot size. The flower’s life of at least 35 days has undoubtedly contributed to this success. Another selling point is the compact size of 65 cm, combined with the large flowers of 10 to 11 cm in diameter.
Anthurium andreanum Grp Brown King (vbn code 28526) is available all year round from the FloraHolland branches in Naaldwijk and Aalsmeer. The plant is sold in a 17 cm pot.
