This compact garden carnation grows to a height of around 15 cm. Anyone looking closely at the plant will see that it is bursting with buds, which ensure that the plant will have a long flowering period, either indoors or in the garden. Those who enjoy the sweet, light fragrance of the plant will opt for the former and move the plant out doors when flowering is over. This is also what the breeder recommends. The plant will flower for about 4 weeks indoors and will last for years in the garden as it is both fully hardy and tolerant of high temperatures.
The purple and white ‘Sunflor Bianca’ is the 25th scion in the successful Sunflor series. The cultivar was launched at the Dutch flower auctions last year. In the first season around 30,000 ‘Sunflor Bianca’ plants were sold. The favourable reactions by the trade encouraged many growers to increase supply so that greater quantities will be available this year. And supplies are expected to continue to increase in the coming years.
The first plants of this season are expected to be available at the Dutch auctions in early March, perhaps even late February. Dianthus ‘Sunflor Bianca’ (vbn code 27502) is sold without a wrapper or a stickpin in 9, 10.5 and 12 cm pots. Supplies are expected to continue until mid May. The plant can be supplied with a stickpin on request.
