| Anemone
Stand in a little water containing special food for bulb flowers because of its hairy stems. Store the stems upright to stop them from curving. Anemones continue to grow in the vase; take this into account when creating a mixed bouquet. Stand in a cool spot; this helps keep the stems firm. | ![]() |

| Vanda
Slant cut the stem and stand the flower in fresh water. Cut flower food is not necessary. Replace the water at least once a week and slant cut the stems again. Lay drooping flowers or stems in luke warm water overnight. This is also recommended if the flowers are to be used – loose or otherwise – in wedding flowers. | Anthurium

| Hippeastrum On purchasing the main bud must be coloured and loose. Treat with care to avoid damage. Cut the hollow stems off straight across. Use adhesive tape to stop the ends from curling back.
