| Euphorbia fulgens Remove most of the leaves. If the flower is drooping, cut 5 cm off the stem and then scald the end in hot water. | Anthurium Unwrap the plant immediately. Stand in a well-lit spot, out of full sunlight. Keep the root ball moderately moist; drier in winter. Spray the leaves regularly and feed the plant once a fortnight. Wrap the plant up well before it leaves the shop as it is very sensitive to cold and draughts. |  |

| Globba The flowers are harvested when all the bracts have turned back. Remove the wrapper immediately and display and store the flowers at room temperature. Use fresh water. It is advisable to remove a piece from the end of the stem every week. Globba has a vase life of around three weeks. |  |

| Capsicum Stand in a sunny spot as this will help the fruits retain their colour. Do not allow the root ball to dry out as this will cause the fruits to shrivel. | Gloriosa Slant cut the stems and stand in fresh water containing food for bulb flowers. This is not necessary for long stems bearing several flowers as the grower will have provided enough food to ensure all the flowers open. | Dendrobium Stand in a light spot but out of bright sunlight. Water sparingly once a week or immerse the pot in water – preferably decalcified water. Apply orchid food once a month.
