Social involvement

KEY CONCEPTS

We are communicating more than ever before – just consider instant messaging, e-mails, text messaging and mobile phones. At the same time, we find ourselves more by ourselves in our own little world. Individuality is greater than ever. We need communication on a larger scale. Our need for expression is growing and we want to distinguish ourselves to a greater degree. Social involvement is increasing, and personal attention is becoming more important. Within this framework, flowers play an obvious part, especially arrangements we actually wear! Inevitably, the leading role here goes to the rose, the flower that communicates as no other and overflows with symbolic meaning. This Inspirational Theme offers other opportunities for gift-giving occasions such as Mother’s Day, Father’s Day and congratulations for passing final exams.

INTERIORS: GENERAL INFORMATION
Colours: natural colours combined with warm festive summer colours such as pink, red, orange, yellow, green and light blue.

Materials:
the materials used are quite diverse: anything goes as long as it suggests a personal touch. The more unexpected the combination of materials, the more personalised the look. But natural materials such as unfinished wood and stone are especially interesting. For arrangements, ribbon and cord are often used.

Shapes:
personalised products and collections in the broadest sense of the word. Attention to typefaces, text and artworks.

Patterns:
there are also many ways to use patterns in this theme. The patterns used are personalised and minimalistic.

ARRANGEMENTEN
Colours: use of cheerful, bright colours, sometimes accompanied by symbolic values, but always surprising.

Shapes: compact. Often worn on the body or having symbolic meaning. The bouquet looks as if it wants to tell you something.

Vases: the vases (when used at all) are subordinate to the flowers. Look for unusual combinations – this is what makes an arrangement personalised.

COLOUR CHART
A limited number of neutral colours were selected from the colour chart for 2008. Various bright tones are added to these mostly from the pink/purples and the yellow/reds. Purple and yellow are the newest colours here.
